Think cannabis, also known as marijuana, is not harmful? Think again. Despite its natural plant origin, the culprit is able to stealthily creep into the lives of its abusers, dominate them and cause harms in many ways. Here are some detrimental effects of cannabis

  1. Long-term abuse of cannabis could compromise the ability to learn and interact with others as the drug sneakily reduces the mental capacity of its abusers.
  2. It could cause its regular abusers to perform poorly in class and increase their chances of dropping out of school.
  3. Cannabis cunningly intoxicates its abusers to damage their memory and cause them to be rash, less driven and less focused.
  4. It relentlessly raises the risks of developing mental disorders among unsuspecting young abusers as they mature into adulthood.
  5. Hostility and short-temperedness are some of the withdrawal symptoms which could chase away family and friends.
  6. Cannabis intoxicates its users, increasing their chances of having accidents that could lead to injuries or possibly death.

Cannabis is indeed harmful and it is no less harmful than any other drugs like heroin and methamphetamine. Addiction could result from the first try. Be firm, be resilient and never give in to the temptation of drugs.
