76 arrested in island-wide anti-drug operation

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 76 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 15 to 19 June 2026. A total of about 97g of cannabis, 49g of ‘Ice’, 7g of heroin and a small amount of ‘Ecstasy’. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $7,000. The youngest arrested in this island-wide operation was a 15-year-old student for suspected drug abuse. 

2.              Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Chai Chee, Boon Lay, Bras Basah, Geylang, Orchard, Serangoon, Telok Blangah and Woodlands.

Arrest of drug trafficker in follow-up operation

3.              In the morning of 17 June, CNB officers conducted an operation at a residential unit in the vicinity of Bedok North which led to the arrest of a 57-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug-related offences. Drug paraphernalia were seized from the unit.

4.              On the same day, through follow-up investigations, two concurrent operations were launched which led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug trafficking offences and a 70-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug abuse. A total of about 3g of ‘Ice’ and a small amount of ‘Ecstasy’ were seized from the 36-year-old man’s residential unit and from the 70-year-old man.

Multi-agency operation conducted at various nightspots

5.              CNB led a joint enforcement operation at various nightspots from 18 June to 19 June 2026. The enforcement operation involved officers from the Singapore Police Force and Health Sciences Authority, as part of sustained efforts to clamp down on illegal activities.

6.              Close to 130 persons at five nightlife establishments were checked during the enforcement operation, and 61 of them were tested with saliva test kits on suspicion of drug consumption. A 26-year-old female foreign national was arrested for suspected drug abuse.

7.              Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. 

8.              Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
