80 arrested in island-wide anti-drug operation

         The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 80 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 10 to 14 February 2025.  A total of about 916g of heroin, 426g of ‘Ice’, 82g of cannabis, six grammes of ketamine, 234 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and 38 Erimin-45 tablets were seized.  The youngest arrested in this island-wide operation was a 14-year-old girl for suspected drug abuse.

2.       On 11 February, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Chin Swee Road and arrested a 61-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug trafficking.  A total of about 453g of heroin, 132g of ‘Ice’, 10g of cannabis, five Erimin-5 tablets and cash in various currencies amounting to SGD6,097.30, MYR75, IDR15,000 and VND20,000 were recovered from this raid.

Poly-drug trafficker arrested at Rivervale

3.     In the evening hours of 11 February, CNB officers arrested a suspected drug trafficker, a 39-year-old Singaporean man, at a residential block in the vicinity of Rivervale Crescent.  A total of about 85g of ‘Ice’, six grammes of ketamine, 14 Erimin-5 tablets, 232 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and cash amounting to SGD1,044 were recovered from this operation.

4.     On 13 February, CNB officers raided a residential unit in the vicinity of Tampines Central 7.  Officers arrested a 28-year-old Singaporean man and recovered drug paraphernalia and plant parts believed to be parts of a cannabis plant.

5.     Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, ‘cannabis’ means any part of a plant of the genus Cannabis, or any part of such plant, by whatever name it is called.  Under Section 8(a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act, it is an offence for a person to have in his or her possession any part of a plant of the genus Cannabis. If a person is found guilty of possession of cannabis where the quantity is less than 330g, he or she may be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years imprisonment or $20,000 fine or both.

6.     Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
