84 arrested in island-wide anti-drug operation

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 84 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 9 to 13 March 2026. Controlled drugs including about 1,497g of cannabis, 169g of ‘Ice’, 5g of heroin, 1g of ketamine, one Erimin-5 tablet, five bottles of GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) were seized. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $73,400. The heroin, ‘Ice’ and cannabis seized could potentially feed the addiction of 314 abusers for a week.
2. Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Buangkok, Balestier, Choa Chu Kang and Toa Payoh.
Male foreign national arrested for suspected drug trafficking

In the afternoon of 11 March, acting on information received, CNB officers arrested a 27-year-old male foreign national in a commercial building in the vicinity of Kaki Bukit for suspected drug trafficking offences. A total of about 520g of cannabis, 17g of ‘Ice’ and drug paraphernalia were found in various locations in the building.
Three Singaporeans arrested in Geylang
4. In the morning of 12 March, CNB officers raided two hotel rooms in the vicinity of Lorong 8 Geylang and arrested three Singaporeans for suspected drug offences. A 35-year-old man was arrested in his room where about 64g of cannabis, a small amount of ‘Ice’ and drug paraphernalia were found.

Around the same time, CNB officers effected forced entry into another room as the occupants – a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman – refused to comply with lawful orders to grant officers access to the room. The pair was subsequently arrested in the room for suspected drug offences. The man put up a violent struggle, and necessary force was used to restrain him. The pair was also spotted by CNB officers throwing items out of the room window before their arrest, which were later found to be drug paraphernalia.

6. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.

7. Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
