88 arrested in island-wide anti-drug operation

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 88 suspected drug offenders in an island-wide anti-drug operation from 11 to 16 January 2026. A total of about 213g of cannabis, 170g of ‘Ice’, 1g of heroin, five ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 23 Erimin-5 tablets, vape-related products including 37 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate and cash amounting to $1,122.05 were seized. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $23,000.

2.               Some of the areas covered during this island-wide operation included Bedok, Woodlands, Race Course Road and Telok Kurau.

3.               In the afternoon of 12 January, CNB officers launched an operation at a residential unit in the vicinity of Edgedale Plains and arrested a 34-year-old Singaporean woman for suspected drug-related offences. A search of the unit recovered about 160g of cannabis and 59g of ‘Ice’. The seized drugs were found in a plastic box hidden behind the bedroom door of the woman’s children.

Three men arrested for suspected drug offences on 13 January

4.               In the morning of 13 January, CNB officers arrested a 39-year-old Singaporean man in his residential unit in the vicinity of Hougang Avenue 5 for suspected drug offences. A search of the unit recovered a small amount of ‘Ice’, five ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 2 Erimin-5 tablets and drug paraphernalia. Another occupant of the unit, a 55-year-old Singaporean man, was later arrested after he was spotted by CNB officers in the process of disposing a box into a dustbin at the void deck. The officers retrieved the disposed box and found 19 Erimin-5 tablets inside. 

5.               Later in the afternoon, acting on information received, CNB officers arrested a 50-year-old male foreign national in a residential unit in the vicinity of Punggol Way for suspected drug trafficking offences. A search of the unit recovered 7g of ‘Ice’ and various drug paraphernalia.

6.               Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
