Drugs including more than 7kg of cannabis seized

On 8 January 2026, a 29-year-old Singaporean woman arrested by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for suspected drug trafficking offences. Drugs including about 7,144g of cannabis were seized. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $94,900 and could potentially feed the addiction of 1,110 abusers for a week.
2. The woman was arrested in a room within a condominium unit in the vicinity of West Coast Way. During the operation, forced entry was effected as the woman refused to comply with lawful orders to grant officers access into the room. A search of the room recovered about 7,144g of cannabis, 169g of ‘Ice’, 9g of ketamine, 30g of ‘Ecstasy’, 30 Erimin-5 tablets and drug paraphernalia were seized.

3. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
4. Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspect are ongoing.
