More than 4kg of cannabis and $400,000 seized; Two Singaporeans arrested

On 17 and 18 January 2026, two Singaporean men, aged 29 and 47, were arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences in the vicinity of Holland Drive. A total of about 4,113g of cannabis, 393g of ketamine, 236g of ‘Ice’, 49g of ‘Ecstasy’, 40 Erimin-5 tablets and cash amounting to $420,563.50 were seized. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $123,000. The heroin, ‘Ice’ and cannabis seized could potentially feed the addiction of 723 abusers for a week.
2. On 17 January, Singapore Police Force (SPF) officers attended to a call for assistance at a residential unit located in the vicinity of Holland Drive. SPF officers conducted a search in the unit and found substances believed to contain controlled drugs and a substantial amount of cash. Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers were immediately alerted and took over the case. A 47-year-old Singaporean man was subsequently arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences with a total of about 4,113g of Cannabis, 135g of ‘Ice’, 31g of ‘Ecstasy’, 40 Erimin-5 tablets, drug paraphernalia and cash amounting to $420,383.30 seized from various locations within the unit.

On 18 January, through follow-up investigation, CNB officers launched an operation in the same vicinity which saw the arrest of a 29-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug trafficking offences. A search of his residential unit located in the vicinity of Chua Chu Kang led to the seizure of about 393g of ketamine, 101g of ‘Ice’ and 17g of ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and cash amounting to $180.20.

4. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
5. Investigations into the drug activities of both arrested suspects are ongoing. Concurrently, CNB is investigating into the cash seized under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992.
