Three Singaporeans arrested for suspected drug offences; Young children found in raids

On 14 August 2025, three Singaporean men were arrested by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in separate anti-drug operations for suspected drug offences. A total of about 1,050g of ‘Ice’, 100 Erimin-5 tablets, 9g of ‘Ecstasy’, and various drug paraphernalia were seized. The drugs seized are estimated to be worth more than $128,000 and could potentially feed the addiction of 600 abusers for a week.

2. In the morning on 14 August, a 42-year-old Singaporean man was arrested in his residential unit in the vicinity of Tampines Street 86 for suspected drug offences. During the raid, CNB officers found multiple drug paraphernalia under the coffee table in the living room. The man’s 10-year-old daughter was also present in the living room.

3. In the afternoon of the same day, a 41-year-old Singaporean man was arrested in a residential unit in the vicinity of Jalan Kayu for suspected drug trafficking offences. During the search of the unit, officers recovered about 158g of ‘Ice’ and 9g of ‘Ecstasy’.

4. At around the same time, CNB officers raided another residential unit in the vicinity of Bukit Batok West Avenue 9, where a 36-year-old man was arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences. About 892g of ‘Ice’ and 100 Erimin-5 tablets were seized from within the unit. The man’s wife and their four children aged between one and eight years old were present in the unit.

5. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Chang Gim Fook, Deputy Director (Operations) of Intelligence Division, said:

“CNB will continue our operational tempo to take down drug offenders. We take seriously any situation where individuals, especially children, are exposed to drugs and are subjected to unsafe environments. CNB will not hesitate to act swiftly to neutralise illegal drug activities and keep our community safe.”

Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.

7. Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspects are ongoing.
