Arrest Of Four Foreign Nationals for Suspected Drug Offences in Woodlands

             Officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) have arrested four male foreign nationals, aged between 24 and 36, for suspected drug offences on 22 October. The men were arrested in a CNB operation conducted following information received. 

2.        In the late morning of 22 October, acting on information received, CNB officers launched an operation at a foreign worker residential lodging in the vicinity of Woodlands Avenue 1, which led to the arrest of four male foreign nationals – a 32-year-old man for suspected drug trafficking offences and three others, aged 24, 30 and 36, for suspected drug abuse. A search was conducted on the men and their living area, and a total of 68g of cannabis, 18g of ‘Ice’, 29 ‘Yaba’ tablets and various drug paraphernalia were seized.

    3.           Superintendent Royce Chua, Commanding Officer of Enforcement ‘F’ and ‘L’ Division, said:

    “CNB regularly engages the community, which includes our migrant worker community, to raise awareness on the harms of drugs and Singapore’s zero tolerance stance against drugs. CNB will not hesitate to take tough enforcement action against drug traffickers and offenders, and will spare no effort to detect, disrupt, and dismantle drug operations to keep Singapore safe.”

    4.          Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. 

    5.           Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
