Officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) have arrested a 30-year-old male foreign national for suspected drug trafficking offences on 12 June 2025.
2. In the late evening of 10 June, during an operation launched in the vicinity of Bendemeer Road, officers approached the 30-year-old man who was on his e-bike. Upon seeing the officers, the man abandoned his e-bike and fled the scene. During the pursuit, the man was seen discarding a bag into the Kallang River. Officers subsequently retrieved the bag from the river and it was found to contain about 2,004g of cannabis and 518g of ‘Ice’. The amount of cannabis and ‘Ice’ seized is estimated to be worth $110,200 and could feed the addiction of about 580 drug abusers for a week.
3. CNB subsequently established the identity of the 30-year-old man and carried out a follow-up operation on the afternoon of 12 June 2025 which saw the arrest of the man for suspected drug trafficking offences at the entrance of a condominium in the vicinity of Kampong Eunos. The man was escorted to his residential unit in the condominium where various drug paraphernalia were seized from within.

4. Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person, on his or her own behalf, or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug; or to do or offer to do any act preparatory to or for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug. If a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine, or 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
5. Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspect are ongoing.
