Joint enforcement blitz nets 23

Twenty-three subjects were arrested following a 17-hour joint enforcement operation that commenced from 7am on 3 April 2014.

The operation was led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division and involved officers from the Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Customs. The officers conducted checks in Yishun, Sengkang, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sembawang.

During the operation, a total of 23 persons were arrested for various criminal and drug-related offences. Drugs seized in the operation included approximately 30g of cannabis and a small amount of ‘Ice’ and heroin; as well as 41 packets of contraband cigarettes.

Investigations against the subjects arrested are ongoing.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Keok Tong San, expressed his appreciation to all the agencies involved. He commended the officers for their excellent teamwork and coordination which led to the successful joint operation. He added, “The Police and our enforcement counterparts will continue to work closely to eradicate criminal activities and keep our streets safe.”
