As a Home Affairs Senior Executive, you will be exposed to a wide range of work in different MHA departments through regular postings:

  • Central Narcotics Bureau
  • Immigration & Checkpoints Authority
  • Ministry of Home Affairs Headquarters
  • Singapore Civil Defence Force
  • Singapore Police Force
  • Singapore Prison Service

The postings will enable you to develop your career along professional tracks to deepen your specialisation in your areas of interest. You will provide vital support for executive and policy decisions and will be responsible for overseeing projects being implemented.

Management Executive Officer (Extended Management Executive Scheme)

As an Extended Management Executive, you are part of the team responsible for the daily administrative operations in CNB. You may support various staff functions in CNB:

  • Human Resource
  • Communications
  • Policy, Planning and Research
  • Corporate Services

Local / Foreign Language Interpreter (Freelance position)

As a language interpreter, you will be engaged to provide critical interpretation and translation support for investigation of cases. The freelance position will be hourly-rated. You will be required to:

  • Interpret for Investigation Officers during statement recording from a vernacular language to the English language and vice versa; and
  • Appear in court as prosecution witness and be subjected to cross examination, if required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A qualification relevant to Interpretation, such as NTU Graduate Diploma in Translation and Interpretation, SUSS Professional Certificate of Accredited Professional (Consecutive) Interpreter, or equivalent; and/or
  • At least 3 years of experience in interpretation and translation work in: (i) one or more local languages and/or dialects, such as Malay, Tamil, Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese etc., for local language interpreters, and (ii) in one or more foreign languages and/or dialects, such as Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, Telegu, Tagalog etc., for foreign language interpreters
